Curriculum Vision
At Haymerle School, our vision is to provide a creative and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of every pupil. Through meaningful learning experiences and enrichment opportunities, we nurture confident, curious, and lifelong learners who thrive and contribute positively to the world around them.
Curriculum Intent
At Haymerle School, we provide a creative and inclusive curriculum that encourages active engagement in learning and supports pupils to make progress on their individual learning pathways. We focus on developing key areas that are important for pupils with autism, including social communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving and thinking skills. This helps pupils develop their independence and build the confidence they need for life beyond school.
Our curriculum is responsive to the needs of each learner and seeks to build on individual strengths, interests and aspirations. Through a thematic approach, pupils are supported to engage in meaningful learning experiences that promote enjoyment, achievement and personal development.
A two-year rolling curriculum plan ensures a balance of stimulating learning opportunities across a range of themes and subjects. Our curriculum supports pupils' spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development, preparing them for successful
transitions and active participation in their communities.
