At Haymerle School we believe that our pupils should have access to quality physical education sessions. We use our PE and Sport Grant to enable a PE specialist to give booster sessions in PE in order to increase staff confidence and knowledge when delivering the PE curriculum. We encourage our pupils to work together during these sessions. We are always looking to invest in new and exciting sports equipment to enable all our pupils to have equal access to PE and Sport.
Through our PE sessions at Haymerle pupils develop fundamental movement skills, become increasingly competent and confident and access a range of opportunities to extend their agility, balance and coordination, individually and with others.
Pupils are taught to master basic movements including running, jumping, climbing, crawling, directional movement, throwing and catching; and begin to apply these in a range of activities such as adapted gymnastics or athletics.
